Target auditory comprehension during speech and language therapy by teaching students strategies to use while listening. This resource includes several visuals/anchor charts, 70 leveled task cards with multiple prompts and passages, a handout for students/parents/teachers, and a listening comprehension rating scale for the following strategies:
Repeating
Visualizing
Paraphrasing
Questioning
Association
Students can learn about each type of strategy and practice applying that strategy at a variety of different levels. This resource was created for middle school speech and language therapy but would also serve as a valuable tool for upper elementary and high school students. Passages can also be used as an informal assessment for listening comprehension skills.
