This digital resource includes 50 no-print, no-prep worksheets to support students with the skill of doing laundry. It is packed with visuals and tools to help your students be successful, including…

  • A Laundry Checklist: The steps to doing a load of laundry and the skills involved are outlined in this student friendly, parent friendly checklist. Great for use during community based instruction or classroom activities that involve washing (towels, gym uniforms, etc.), as well as to send home for collaboration between the parent/guardian and SLP.

  • A Guide to Settings on the Washer and Dryer: What does permanent press mean? How about pre-wash? Learn which settings to use for darks, lights, delicates, and more with a visual guide to the washer and dryer.

  • Visual Sequencing for a Load of Laundry: The steps to doing a load of laundry are outlined in order to support students who are just learning to do the wash on their own. Additionally, there is a page with the steps mixed up - the student must determine the accurate order.

There are also worksheets to describe and discuss various appliances (washer, dryer, iron, etc.) and garments, including button-down shirts, wool sweaters, and other non-dryer friendly items.

Wardrobe Guides with Wh Questions help students further explore the materials used for different types of clothing, different washer and dryer settings, as well as plan outfits for important events (i.e. weddings, job interviews, trips to the grocery store, etc.).

Finally, there are hypothetical scenarios for problem solving (size of the problem, possible solutions, etc.), cause and effect, and inferencing.

This resource opens up so many possibilities and helps keep therapy FUNCTIONAL! Great for teletherapy OR in-person sessions with middle or high school students working on developing important life skills.
